If you haven’t experienced Tajin, you’re missing out! This wonderfully delicious chili lime seasoning is to die for. I keep a bottle in my desk drawer at work just to have on hand whenever needed. I LOVE it on fruit so when Friday breakfasts roll around, you know I’ll be at my desk sprinkling some Tajin on top of my fruit plate. Then I savor the flavor of the chili lime in combination with the ripe fruit. My fav combo would have to be Tajin with watermelon or mango…guess it’s a tie! My mouth is seriously watering 😋 It’s also the perfect way to rim a Bloody Mary! Oh my YUM!
To make the fish, I chose not to fry it in oil. Instead, I seasoned the fish as indicated in the recipe but then cooked it in my air fryer. I placed it on a tray lined with parchment paper, pushed the fish button (seriously it’s that easy), and then flipped the fish halfway through the cooking time. No oil required!
If you’re in the market to upgrade your air fryer or looking to purchase one for the first time, I highly recommend the one I have. So versatile and allows me to cook for my whole family. Gone are the days where I had to do two batches in my old basket air fryer…now I have 5 shelves! All I do it rotate the shelves during the cooking to ensure that they cook evenly. Small price to pay for all the perks of this much loved and used nearly daily appliance. It’s an air fryer, dehydrator, and my toaster too!
Substitutions/Additions for Chili Lime Fish Tacos:
- substituted tilapia for cod because I already had some on hand (either works well)
- eliminated mayonnaise in the sauce
- for the slaw, I chose a time saver and bought a prepackaged bag of shredded coleslaw and used about 3 cups of that in place of the shredded white cabbage, red cabbage, and shredded carrots that were called for in the recipe
Tips for making Chili Lime Fish Tacos:
- While not required, these taco holders sure do come in handy. If you’re a fan of Taco Tuesdays or are just looking for a easy way to make your tacos, these are for you.
- I also recommend this tortilla warmer…LOVE IT! Works like a charm and the directions are printed on the back so you always know how long to zap your tortillas for so they stay perfectly warm throughout the duration of your meal time.
