For how easy it was, this casserole is actually quite delicious. It was a crowd pleaser as well. My picky eater dove in and even went back for seconds…although she didn’t give the pickles a try.
Substitutions/Additions made by Cooking After Class for Cheeseburger Casserole:
- used penne pasta instead of rotini
- substituted venison for ground beef
Tips from Cooking After Class for making Cheeseburger Casserole:
- I made this casserole the day before I was going to serve it, covered it and placed it in the fridge. Needed to bake about twice the amount of time (30 minutes) to heat it through instead of the 15 minutes if it’s already warm when you place it in the oven.
- Don’t leave out the dill pickles on top…they really being the dish together! My kids don’t usually eat pickles AT ALL but two of the three had them on this dish and liked the meal 🙂
